From her intense and unforgettable work on Euphoria to her latest standout roles, she has captured audiences with range, charisma, and sheer screen presence. Here’s a closer look at 5 performances that showcase her talent, versatility, and rise as one of Hollywood’s most captivating starlets.

The Housemaid (2025)

Sydney was cast as Millie Calloway in the 2025 psychological thriller The Housemaid, adapted from the first book in Frieda McFadden’s The Housemaid series, alongside Amanda Seyfried as Nina Winchester and Brandon Skelnar as Andrew Winchester.

Millie is a young woman with a troubled past who takes a live-in housemaid job only to uncover dark secrets within the wealthy Winchester household.

Christy (2025)

Her most controversial role to date!

The Hollywood starlet portrayed the legendary lesbian boxer Christy Martin in the eponymous biopic, alongside Ben Foster and Merritt Weaver showcasing Martin's rise to fame, her historic impact on women's boxing and her personal struggle both in and out of of the ring.

However, Sydney's performance was slammed by Australian actress Ruby Rose who called Sweeney a "cretin" for ruining the film and pretending to be part of the LGBT community when it should have been represented by someone like Ruby Rose.

Anyone But You (2023)

The blonde bombshell starred as Ba in the romantic comedy Anyone But You opposite Glen Powell, a modern take on Much Ado About Nothing in which two people pretend to be a couple as a destination wedding in Australia only to discover unexpected feelings towards each other along the way.

Euphoria (2019 - )

Sydney catapulted to Hollywood stardom landing the breakout role of Cassie Howard in the HBO drama Euphoria. She portrays a complex high schooler navigating relationships, insecurities, and the pressures of adolescence.

The Handmaid’s Tale (2017 - 2025)

Before her breakout role in Euphoria, Sweeney had a small role as Eden Spencer in the second series, which dropped in 2018, of The Handmaid's Tale. She depicts a young handmaid living under Gilead's oppressive regime in the dystopian drama based on Margaret Atwood's novel.
