Mystic Pizza

The young actress' first critical success came in 1988 with her performance as Daisy Araujo in the comedy 'Mystic Pizza'.

The film follows pizzeria staff Jojo, Daisy and Kat as they face complications in their respective love lives. The sleeper hit was not a huge success on release but has since gained a large cult following and set Julia up for her future as a major Hollywood star.

The film was not only Roberts' entryway to fame, but also Donald Petrie's feature film directorial debut and Matt Damon's film debut.
