Eddie Murphy was almost cast

Eddie Murphy and John Candy were among the actors considered for key roles.

There was talks of Murphy playing Winston Zeddemore and Candy being Louis Tully.

Unfortunately, Murphy was tied up with filming for 'Beverley Hills Cop'.

Candy simply rejected the job offer.
