'No faith'

Despite its current status as an action-comedy classic, Michael Bay admitted the studio were not initially keen on the film due to its diverse cast.

He said: "Sony didn’t believe in the movie, because two black actors don’t sell overseas. They had no faith in it."

Despite Sony’s alleged reservations, the movie went on to gross over $141 million at the box office.
