Gone Girl

David Fincher's 2014 psychological thriller is an adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s novel of the same name. The film stars Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike as married couple Nick and Amy.

Nick's life gets turned upside down when Amy suddenly disappears. A philandering Nick becomes the prime suspect in the investigation, and for most of the movie we’re too busy being mad at him to even consider any other possibility.

Well, let’s just say when that twist comes, it hits just as hard in film form as it does in Gillian Flynn's 2012 book.
