Nominated for all of the major Oscars and having made $177.2 million at the box office when it was released in 1982, ‘Tootsie’ took the world by storm.

Sydney Pollack’s romantic comedy is memorable for many because of the themes of cross-dressing, as it tells the story of an actor who is finding it hard to find roles, and so decides to adopt a new identity as woman.
