Spielberg is such a huge fan of Orson Welles’ first feature film, released in 1941, that he bought the sledge Rosebud which is arguably the star of the masterpiece. Spielberg purchased the said sledge during an auction back 1982, when the New York Times reported that he paid a whopping $60,500 for the prop. In 2018, Spielberg announced that he was donating it to a museum, where he said: “it belonged”.
