Uma Thurman was tasked with bringing to Mia Wallace to life on the big screen, but that wasn’t always going to be the case.

A plethora of Hollywood actresses were considered for the part, including Isabella Rossellini, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Meg Ryan, Alfre Woodard, Halle Berry, Daryl Hannah, Rosanna Arquette, Joan Cusack and Michelle Pfeiffer, but Tarantino had his heart set on Thurman.

In fact, he wanted Uma so much, that once she turned the role down, he rang her up and read the script down the line, which ultimately convinced her to sign on to the film.
