Things got so bad that he was hospitalised in 1975.

Speaking about the health scare, Elton said: "I'd have an epileptic seizure and turn blue and people would find me on the floor and put me to bed, and then 40 minutes later I'd be doing it again. I knew that my lifestyle was crazy and out of order ... I cannot thank them enough, because without them, I'd probably be dead."
