Cillian Murphy
Cillian Murphy won the Best Actor Oscar for his portrayal of the "father of the atomic bomb" J. Robert Oppenheimer in war drama 'Oppenheimer' as well as a BAFTA Award and a Golden Globe Award for his performance.
Cillian also starred as Dr. Jonathan Crane, aka the Scarecrow, in Nolan's 'Batman Begins', reprising the role for a cameo in 'The Dark Knight Rises'. He also appeared in Nolan's 2010 sci-fi action film 'Inception' and 2017's 'Dunkirk'.
Recalling his first impressions of Nolan on 'Batman Begins' set, Cillian said: "I remember being blown away when I walked onto the ‘Batman’ set. I mean I was very, very nervous, and it was like a big responsibility for me. But it felt like just walking onto the set of an independent film. The atmosphere that he creates on the floor is very, very intimate. It’s just him and Wally Pfister, the cameraman, and he’s right beside the camera watching the action take place between the actors.”
