Indy started off as a James Bond clone

Indiana Jones is now one of cinema’s most iconic action heroes but its origins come from James Bond.

Steven Spielberg had wanted to direct a 007 film but was rejected by Bond bosses - leading to George Lucas to pitch a "better idea" about the archaeologist as the pair holidayed in Hawaii. The rest, they say, is history!

The Bond connection doesn't end there as the late Sir Sean Connery played Indy's father in the 'Last Crusade'.
