The female prison drama aired on Netflix between 2013 and 2019 but creator Jenji Kohan revealed that she struggled to convince networks to take as her comedy-drama 'Weeds' had only ended the year before.

Their loss was the streamer's gain as it went on to become one of Netflix's most-watched shows.
