This athlete turns 28 today!

The artistic gymnast became the first African American to win the all-around title at the 2012 London Olympics, which she then repeated three years later.

Appearing on the ‘Person of the Week’ podcast, Gabby reflected on winning gold at the Olympics, and making history.

She said: “It was crazy. I remember, I was icing my whole body, because like, it’s the Olympics, you give everything … and Morta Korolyi, she was head coordinator of gymnastics, Morta’s like, ‘You’re going to be famous.’ And I, in that moment, I didn’t believe her. Because I’m like, 'Famous, what do you mean? I’m not a celebrity. I just got a gold medal.’ I thought nothing of it."
