In 2017, Katy Perry decided to shave her hair off after her luscious locks became damaged from years of constant dye usage.

Opening up to Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show, the 39-year-old explained why she had to wave goodbye to her hair.

She said: "I don't know if you've ever dyed your hair blonde, and too blonde, sometimes your hair falls out when you go too blonde. So, this is the way I handled it.

"At first it was [to salvage my hair] and then I was like, 'Oh I really believe the universe has a plan for this.'"
