They take separate flights

In the early days of air travel, where aviation disasters were of a higher risk, it was standard practice for royal heirs to the throne to travel separately in case of an accident. In most recent years, however, the royals have relaxed the stringent rules as William and Catherine have disembarked the same plane with their children Prince George and Princess Charlotte on numerous occasions.
