They fly commercial

The royal family occasionally ditches their private jets and opt for commercial flights instead. Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, are known to travel on British Airways and have occasionally been spotted taking cheap flights with budget airlines like Ryanair. The late Prince Philip on the other hand would never be seen in “something called economy class”.

Philip preferred to charter a luxury aircraft and indulge in decadent travel.

He said: “If you travel as much as we do, you appreciate the improvements in aircraft design of less noise and more comfort - provided you don’t travel in something called economy class, which sounds ghastly.”
