Lucille Ball (1911-1989)
The ‘I Love Lucy’ actress died in 1989 aged 77, after having a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm, which resulted in heart failure.
However, forensic pathologist Dr. Michael Hunter told PEOPLE that the cardiac condition was caused by the constant use of amyl nitrate, a substance commonly used to boost sexual performance. Hunter made it clear, however, that Ball had probably not used it recreationally, but to treat a chest pain.
