Sydney Sweeney leaned on co-stars after Angus Cloud's death
Sydney Sweeney still has fond memories of her time with Angus Cloud, who passed away in 2023.
Sydney Sweeney felt "very emotional" when she returned to the Euphoria set after the death of Angus Cloud.
The actor died of a drug overdose, aged 25, in July 2023, and Sydney admits that she still misses her former co-star, describing Angus as a "special person".
The 28-year-old actress - who plays Cassie Howard on the hit TV show - told Variety: "It was definitely a very emotional experience to go back to a set and not have him be there with you. He was such a special person, and he was taken way too young."
Sydney leaned on her family and her co-stars after Angus passed away.
The actress said: "I’m glad I was home because I was surrounded by my family.
"I think my first call was Maude, and then Jacob [Elordi], and we were all just crying on the phone together. It’s not something you want to bring people back together over, but I’m thankful to have my castmates to be able to process all of that together."
Angus' death was first announced by his family.
In a statement given to CNN, his family said: "It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today.
"As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.
"Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend.
"Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence."
Angus' family also described his death as a "devastating loss".
They added: "We hope the world remembers him for his humour, laughter and love for everyone.
"We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss."
