Whilst he has never appeared in a superhero movie, it seems that Josh Hartnett was a very popular choice amongst casting agents.

When asked if he would ever suit up on screen by Details, the actor revealed he was offered the role of Batman, Superman and Spider-Man early in his career, but was quick to pass on them all.

He said: "I somehow knew those roles had potential to define me, and I didn’t want that.

"I was maybe 22, but I saw the danger."
