He had a pet chimpanzee

Michael had a zoo at his Neverland Ranch, but his favorite pet was without doubt his chimpanzee Bubbles.

The singer bought Bubbles from a Texas research facility in the 1980s, and was known for taking the chimp everywhere with him, including on trips abroad and on tour and dressing the ape in the same trademark clothes that he wore.

In 2003, Bubbles had grown too large and aggressive to keep as a pet and was given up.

He currently lives at the Center of Great Apes in Florida.
