The late Telly Savalas defined '70s television as the sophisticated Detective Lieutenant in 'Kojak' - which ran for five seasons between 1973 and 1978.
Kojak was famous for his love of lollipops and was described by Savalas as a "basically honest character, tough but with feelings".
