Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol (2011)

Whilst filming the fourth instalment of the 'Mission: Impossible' franchise, Cruise scaled the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the tallest skyscraper in the world that stands at 2,716.5 feet.

In the movie, Tom’s character Ethan Hunt must climb to the 130th floor using nothing but suction gloves then make the descent down using a makeshift rope. Whilst abseiling down in nothing but a harness Cruise struggled with fierce winds and was smashed into the side of the building.

He said: "It took a while to figure out how to not come into the building head first.”
