Max Schreck

German actor Max Schreck gave an iconic performance as Count Orlok - a vampire from Transylvania, inspired by Count Dracula - in the acclaimed 1922 silent film 'Nosferatu'.

The production company declared itself bankrupt afterwards to avoid payment copyright infringement fees to Bram Stoker's widow Florence Balcombe.
