Pete Davidson: I've been super underestimated
Hollywood star Pete Davidson has opened up about his career frustrations.
Pete Davidson thinks he's been "super underestimated" throughout his career.
The 32-year-old comedian previously starred on Saturday Night Live, the long-running TV comedy show, and in various well-known movies - but Pete believes he's been overlooked far too often through his career.
Speaking to Interview magazine, he reflected: "I’ve been playing myself for a long time, which made it difficult for me to get roles I actually like.
"I feel like everyone has underestimated me — and this is f****** in print, so it’s going to sound horrible — but I feel like I’ve been super underestimated my entire career, even though staying relevant for over a decade is no easy feat. I think that should be acknowledged, and I want to show everyone why."
Pete hopes to prove his doubters wrong with his upcoming film projects.
The actor said: "People have all these questions about me, like, 'Why did he do this? Why is he with her? Why is he still around?' I’m hoping How to Rob a Bank, Tommy Karate, and this Doug Liman movie, Bitcoin, coming out soon will start to shift the conversation.
"I want to be like, 'I’m still around because I can do this kind of work too, mother******.' I was just never given a way to prove it until now."
Meanwhile, Pete has Scottie, ten months, with his ex-girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, and the actor previously revealed that he was looking forward to the challenges of fatherhood.
The Hollywood star - who has previously dated the likes of Kim Kardashian, Ariana Grande, Kaia Gerber, Margaret Qualley, and Phoebe Dynevor - told People: "I'm just excited to take care of the little one. The second I found out the news, I was like, ‘Oh wow, what I do is just a job.’
"I realised I was kind of basing my happiness on work, which is ridiculously unhealthy. So it gave me this weird sense of calmness, where this is just a job and now I have someone to do it for."
