The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences 'extremely upset' after Teyana Taylor's physical altercation with security guard
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has addressed Teyana Taylor's confrontation with a security guard at this year's Oscars.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is "extremely upset" after Teyana Taylor had a physical altercation with a security guard.
The One Battle After Another star - who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Oscars on Sunday (15.03.26) - was furious after a member of Security Industry Specialists appeared to stop her getting back on stage after the movie won Best Picture at the end of the ceremony.
In a statement, the Academy has said: "We were extremely upset to learn about the experience endured by Teyana Taylor at the end of the Oscars ceremony last night...
“We have worked with Teyana over the last several months during awards season, and she has been nothing short of remarkable, supportive, kind, and all about community.
“Though the incident was with our outside security firm SIS, the experience of every single guest is our responsibility. We have made it clear to them that this behaviour is not acceptable.
"We want to thank Teyana for showing remarkable grace, and we are taking the appropriate measures to ensure this does not happen again.”
Meanwhile, SIS has also issued its own statement and vowed to make sure the incident is not repeated.
They told TMZ: “This is not the standard of professionalism we expect from our team, and we have addressed the matter internally to help ensure situations like this do not happen again.”
