Teyana Taylor has always "loved" fashion that allows a woman to be "who she is without needing to say too much".

The One Battle After Another actress has joined forces with Alaïa to front the brand's summer/ fall campaign this year, and she was immediately drawn to the "bold and feminine" collection.

Speaking to Vogue Adria, she said: "As someone who has loved Alaïa for a long time, it was truly special to be part of this campaign.

"I was drawn to the collection at first sight.

"It is bold and feminine, yet it also possesses a strength that I deeply identify with.

"I have always loved fashion that allows a woman to be who she is without needing to say too much."

David Sims captured Teyana for the company's latest campaign, and the Hollywood star loved the "very natural" results.

She added: "David captured that confidence in a way that feels very natural to me.

"Powerful, sensual and entirely in the spirit of Alaïa."

Teyana was also delighted with her fashion choice for this year's Academy Awards ceremony, where she was nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

A couple of days before the spectacle, she told Variety about her dressing fitting: "I was nearly in tears.

"It's so good. My final fitting is on Thursday. It's so major. I can't wait for you to see it."

Teyana landed in Hollywood days before the Oscars, having been on the front row of Chanel's show in Paris earlier in the week.

She added: "I just landed a few hours ago. The show was yesterday. Now, I got to make sure I look good because you know that jet lag can whoop your a**."

Teyana was "so nervous" about the Academy Awards, and she wasn't ready for award season to "come to an end".

She said at the time: "I’m realising this is about to come to an end and I really had a blast.

"There are all the friendships I made and all the beautiful people that I’ve enjoyed running into all awards season.

"I’m going to miss everybody. This whole journey has been so beautiful. I don’t take any of this for granted."
