Kristen Bell insists she won't "roast people" at the Actor Awards.

The 45-year-old actress is returning to host the ceremony formerly known as the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards for a third time, and she has given a hint of what to expect when the ceremony airs on Netflix on March 1.

She told The Hollywood Reporter: "I don’t roast people.

"I want to keep it happy and fun. If I’m going to roast anybody, it’s going to be me."

The Nobody Wants This star has been preparing for the big night, and she's turned to her and Dax Shepard's kids in the build-up.

Asked who she rehearses in front of, she replied: "My kids. If a joke survives that room, it can survive anything."

And she has been doing "a lot" of prep for the ceremony.

Kristen explained: "We rehearse the scripts, the beats, the walk-ups, the walk-aways, the camera marks.

"I practice reading a teleprompter, I practice pretending to not read a teleprompter even though I absolutely am. By show day, it’s basically muscle memory."
