Kaia Gerber’s missing cat found after family’s tragic week

Kaia Gerber’s missing cat has been found after her boyfriend Lewis Pullman and close friends rallied around her just days after the death of her brother Presley Gerber.
The 25-year-old model and actress faced another distressing episode when her cat Tony disappeared from her Hollywood Hills neighbourhood this week, prompting Lewis, 33, influencer Jake Shane, 26, and director and photographer Carissa Gallo to put up missing-pet posters around the area.
Tony was subsequently found safe after being missing for about nine hours.
The posters said Tony was shy and wearing a tracker around his neck, while photographs showed Kaia’s friends searching the neighbourhood and attaching notices to posts.
Lewis, who has been dating Kaia since 2025, was photographed taking part in the search alongside her friends.
He was also seen embracing Carissa, who arrived carrying flowers and an envelope bearing Kaia’s name.
The search came during a devastating week for Kaia and her parents, supermodel Cindy Crawford, 60, and businessman Rande Gerber, 64, following Presley’s death at 27.
Presley died at a rehabilitation facility in Santa Monica on Sunday.
The Santa Monica Police Department said officers were called to the 1000 block of Berkeley Street at about 9:35am following a report of a possible overdose.
Police said: “Upon arrival, officers located an adult male who was deceased.”
The department added: “SMPD detectives are investigating the death as a suspected overdose. At this time, there is no indication of foul play. The investigation remains ongoing.”
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner said Presley was pronounced dead by responding paramedics at 9:45am.
An examination has been completed, but officials have deferred a ruling on both the cause and manner of his death while additional testing or studies are carried out.
The medical examiner said deferred cases can take several months to determine.
Presley had spoken publicly about his struggles with addiction and mental health and had documented some of his attempts at treatment on social media.
Earlier this year he underwent ibogaine treatment at a clinic in Mexico.
In a post about the experience, Presley said: “I was absolutely terrified, and I knew I would be again if I ever had to face something like this.”
He added: “I knew why I was there. I faced what I had been running from, and somewhere in all of it, I started finding my way back to myself… We shall see… Praying it’s the last time I have to come back.”
Kaia responded publicly to the post, writing: “That’s my brother I am so damn proud.”
Cindy wrote: “You are a warrior! Walked thru the fire to find yourself! So proud!”
Rande added: “I’m so proud of you and your courage. Facing what’s hard takes real strength and watching you find your way back to yourself is everything. I love you so much.”
Presley followed his mother and younger sister into modelling and worked with fashion houses and brands including Calvin Klein, Dolce and Gabbana and Celine.
He also appeared alongside Cindy in a Pepsi advertisement shown during the 2018 Super Bowl.
Kaia had spoken publicly about her brother’s addiction struggles shortly before his death, telling Vogue about their effect on the family.
She said: “When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone.”
Discussing the difference between Presley’s public openness and the family’s previous approach to privacy, Kaia said: “My parents for most of our lives were very, very private and didn’t share anything – and now we have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, ‘I’m gonna be very human for everyone’. There’s only so much you can hide from the world.”
She added: “And trying to put a lid on something just makes the person feel like you’re ashamed of them.”
Kaia also revealed in an interview conducted before Presley’s death that her brother had watched her latest television project, The Shards, only days before he died.
The Ryan Murphy series, adapted from Bret Easton Ellis’s novel, stars Kaia alongside Homer Gere and is set among privileged teenagers in 1981 Los Angeles.
The series marks the latest step in Kaia’s move from fashion into acting.
The daughter of one of the defining supermodels of the 1990s, she has established her own modelling career while appearing on screen in projects including American Horror Stories, American Horror Story: Double Feature, Babylon and Palm Royale.
