Ant Antstead gushes over 'best human' Renee Zellweger
Ant Antstead has declared his girlfriend Renée Zellweger to be the "best human [he's] ever met".

The 47-year-old presenter - who has Amelie, 22, and Archie, 21, with first wife Louise Herbert, and Hudson, six, with second wife Christina Haack - has been in a relationship with the Bridget Jones' Diary star for five years and he couldn't be happier with her.
Appearing Jeremy Vine on Thursday (30.07.26), he said: “Renée is wonderful. We had our five-year anniversary in April. She’s a wonderful human. The best human I’ve ever met, for a start. She’s absolutely brilliant. Genius. The kindest human on the planet. She’s into cars and houses.”
The latest series of Ant Antstead: Born Mechanic sees the star restooring a 500-year-old farmhouse and he revealed Renée, 57, was instrumental in him buying the property.
He said: "[Renée] was there [at the farmhouse] prior to purchasing it, so she had, you know, I obviously take her counsel, and we walked around it and we were like, yeah, this is the house.”
The couple met when Renée appeared on Ant's show Celebrity IOU: Joyride and he was instantly smitten when he saw her drive a car.
He recalled: "We were filming in Los Angeles in the middle of this massive unit, and we had a, an American convertible, but stick [shift]. And not many people drive stick in America. And we had to move the car, but Renée just jumped over the door, got in, stuck it in first, and I'm like, yes […] that's my girl right there!”
Ant recently insisted he and the Jerry Maguire actress - who was briefly married to singer Kenny Chesney for four months in 2005 - are not in a rush to wed because they don't feel they need to "label" their relationship.
He told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: "I still believe in marriage, but right now we’re really happy. We don’t need the pressure of a label."
He added of Renee: "She’s a very real person. She’s absolutely brilliant, the most grounded, humble person."
Ant previously admitted seeing Renee welding helped win him over because he discovered she's a "hands-on car girl".
He told Hello! magazine: "One of the many, many things that attracts me to Ren is that she’s a hands-on car girl. It’s really cool that we met on a car show.
"She welded – I mean, how cool is that?"
