Jane Seymour says she is ageing naturally for the sake of her career.

The actress has revealed she has embracing the consequences of the passage of time as she continues to enjoy one of the busiest periods of her career at 75.

Emmy and Golden Globe-winning Jane, best known for her starring role in Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman and for playing Solitaire opposite Roger Moore in the James Bond film Live and Let Die, spoke candidly about ageing during an appearance at the 2026 Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala.

Jane said she has avoided cosmetic procedures such as fillers and laser treatments, explaining her work as a dramatic actress relies on authentic facial expression.

The comments come as she celebrates the success of her television series Harry Wild, the launch of a new art exhibition and her recent engagement to singer-songwriter John Zambetti.

Jane told Page Six: “This is what happens. I’m not trying to be 30 when I’m 75.

“I mean, maybe 60 would be nice.”

Discussing her approach to acting, Jane said: “I’ve been playing a lot of older women.

“And the truth is, for me personally, the kind of acting that I do is not about glamour, it’s more about serious emotion, and for real authentic emotion, you need every muscle to work.”

Jane has enjoyed a career spanning more than five decades, becoming a household name through Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman before continuing to work steadily across film and television.

More recently she has found renewed success with Harry Wild, the crime drama in which she plays a retired literature professor who becomes an amateur detective.

Speaking about her current projects, Jane said: “I’m on a show that I love, Harry Wild, my fifth season.

“Who has a series when they’re 75? Nobody.

“I’m starting a great movie in Australia later this year, I’ve got a one-woman art show in New Jersey, my family is great, I’m surrounded by music.”

Earlier this month, Jane unveiled a collection of watercolour paintings during the Vibrant Visions and Healing Hearts exhibition at Ocean Galleries in Stone Harbor, New Jersey.

The exhibition marked another chapter in a creative career now stretching beyond acting into painting and philanthropy.

Away from her professional achievements, Jane is also celebrating a new engagement.

The actress has confirmed she is preparing to marry John after three years together.

Speaking to Us Weekly, Jane said: “Someone decided they wanted to be with me for the rest of their lives. My singer-songwriter.”

She also told Page Six: “(I’m) still writing music and now I have become his muse. So now I have a singer-songwriter in the house, which is amazing.”

Jane’s engagement is set to lead to what will be her fifth marriage.

She was previously married to theatre director Michael Attenborough, author Geoffrey Planer, business manager David Flynn and actor-director James Keach.

Jane first publicly revealed her relationship with John in October 2023, sharing photographs of the couple together on Instagram.
