Shia LaBeouf spotted in Italy after judge granted him permission to travel for dad’s baptism

Shia LaBeouf has been spotted in Italy after a judge granted him permission to travel internationally for his father’s baptism following arrests in New Orleans last month.
The actor, 39, known for roles including the film Megalopolis, was photographed arriving in Rome this week, where he was seen getting into a black car after landing in the Italian capital – appearing to keep a low profile during the trip, wearing a red, black and white patterned graphic T-shirt with grey shorts and sunglasses.
His visit comes after a US court approved a request for the brief overseas trip, which his attorney said was intended to support his father, Jeffrey LaBeouf, at his baptism.
Jeffrey, a former clown and Vietnam veteran, is 78.
According to court documents viewed by Page Six, Shia filed a request on 25 February asking to leave New Orleans for travel between 1 March and 8 March.
His attorney asked the court to allow the trip “for religious observations” and noted the star had no court appearances scheduled during that period.
Judge Simone Levine, who had previously overseen Shia’s court appearance on 26 February, denied the request during a bond and status hearing that same day.
However, on 4 March, Shia’s attorney appeared in court again seeking approval for the travel request.
This time New Orleans judge Peter Hamilton granted the motion allowing the actor to leave the city temporarily.
Court records show Shia is expected to appear at another hearing on 19 March.
The travel permission followed a series of legal issues in New Orleans last month.
Shia was arrested on 17 February after an alleged bar brawl during Mardi Gras celebrations.
Footage of the altercation showed Shia allegedly hurling gay slurs at two men he was fighting.
A police report later stated he called the men “f******” between punches and may have dislocated the nose of one of the men involved in the incident.
Shia was charged with two counts of simple battery and was initially released on his own recognisance.
After the release, he returned to the streets of New Orleans that same night and continued partying.
At a court appearance on 26 February, the initial release conditions were revoked and Shia was ordered to attend rehab, undergo drug testing and post a $100,000 bond under the revised terms of his release.
Days later, on 28 February, the actor was arrested again and charged with one count of simple battery.
Reports previously indicated the new charge appeared to be connected to the alleged bar fight on 17 February.
