Margaret Qualley felt 'overwhelmed' as a young actress
Margaret Qualley has opened up about the early years of her career.
Margaret Qualley felt "overwhelmed" when she began her acting career.
The 31-year-old star is the daughter of actress Andie MacDowell - but Margaret initially felt uncomfortable in the entertainment industry.
Speaking to Vanity Fair magazine, she shared: "I started working so young, and when I first started acting, I was just overwhelmed.
"I felt like if I was fully myself, women would hate me and men would hurt me. And so that took away some of the tools that come with being a woman because I was scared."
Margaret has enjoyed significant success in recent years, starring in movies such as The Substance and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. And the brunette beauty - who is married to musician Jack Antonoff - now feels more confident than ever before.
She said: "Gradually, now that I feel like I have more control of my life, I can kind of lean more into the sensual and the feminine.
"Jack has helped me for sure, because he has made me feel more confident to explore all the parts of myself. But I’m also thinking about Mother Earth and the divine feminine and surrender. Those are the things I’m trying to lean into, that moment in my life."
Meanwhile, Margaret previously acknowledged that she's been "really lucky" in her career.
The actress rubbed shoulders with lots of famous people during her younger years, because of her mom's fame and success.
She told the Evening Standard newspaper: "It’s weird. I’m really lucky. It was a strange thing but then I did go to a normal school, [had] normal friends, and have a somewhat normal life. Then my mom would go off and do movies and sometimes I’d go with her and sometimes I’d meet, like, Gérard Depardieu."
Margaret also admitted that she's been influenced by her mom's life choices.
The actress said: "Since I came into this world my mom was going and doing the thing she loved and I’m very grateful for that."
