Alison Hammond has told people criticising her 22-year age-gap relationship to "mind your business".

The 51-year-old TV presenter, who has been dating 29-year-old model and massage therapist David Putman since December 2023, insists age is just a number and will not entertain any funny business from online trolls judging her love life.

Speaking to Attitude magazine, Alison said: "Mind your business!

"No, genuinely, I think people spend far too much time worrying about other people's relationships.

"If two consenting adults are happy, loved, respected and making each other laugh, what exactly is the problem? People will always have an opinion.

"I've learned that you can't live your life according to everybody else's opinions because you'll end up exhausted and miserable. Love who you love."

The Great British Bake Off host believes laughter is the best medicine and the secret to her happy relationship with David.

She explained: "Life is too short to be in a relationship where you can't laugh together.

"We're different in lots of ways, but sometimes those differences are exactly what makes it interesting. And, let's be honest, I bring the life experience and he brings the youth. It's basically a human multi-generational home!"

Alison previously revealed that her relationship with David feels effortless and insisted there is no unnecessary drama between them.

She told OK! magazine: "It's just easy. I think that's when you know you've got something special. He just sees me for who I am. We choose each other, every day."

And Alison admitted she has no immediate plans to walk down the aisle.

Asked about the possibility of marriage, she replied: "I don't think so. We don't need to! We're both cool."

The former Big Brother contestant was adamant that criticism surrounding their age difference has never troubled her.

She said: "It's nothing to do with anyone else. Yeah, people are going to talk. People do. But that's their business, not mine."

Meanwhile, the presenter recently returned to This Morning after suffering a panic attack during a live broadcast.

Alison underwent hospital tests after experiencing breathing difficulties and later revealed that the results had come back normal.

Reflecting on the frightening experience, she told viewers: "I genuinely thought I was having a heart attack."
