Channing Tatum's new movie influenced his parenting
Channing Tatum has admitted to feeling "proud" of his new movie, Josephine.
Channing Tatum "bawled [his] eyes out" while watching Josephine.
The 45-year-old actor stars alongside Gemma Chan, Philip Ettinger, Syra McCarthy and Mason Reeves in the new thriller-drama film, which focuses on an eight-year-old girl who witnesses a brutal assault in Golden Gate Park, and Channing admits that the movie took an emotional toll on him.
The Hollywood star - who has a 12-year-old daughter called Everly with his ex-wife Jenna Dewan - told Variety: "One of the scenes that got me, and I wasn’t there for the filming it, is when Josephine is looking through the window and drawing things.
"I bawled my eyes out. It was such a beautiful scene. That was unexpected. There are so many moments in this movie where you think about your own child and your own childhood."
Channing admits that the movie even prompted him to re-evaluate his own parenting style.
The actor explained: "I have a daughter, and it has made me look at myself and the way I parent and what the connection is and how I’m communicating things.
"This movie deals with such hard subjects, but in such a masterfully artful way. I am so proud to be in it."
Meanwhile, Channing previously confessed to feeling like "the radio contest winner" in Hollywood.
The actor is one of the biggest names in the movie business - but Channing has always struggled with his self-belief.
The actor - who worked as a stripper and as a model before finding success in the film industry - told Variety: "Anytime I see myself on the screen, it doesn’t feel like a real movie. I see everybody giving these incredible performances, and I don’t believe myself."
Channing confessed to being surprised by his success in the movie business.
He said: "I always felt like the radio contest winner.
"I got called in at the right time, and I got the tickets backstage, and no one told me to leave. And once you let all that go, then you can really start."
