Hollywood actress Halle Berry has reportedly filed court papers asking to be granted sole custody of her 10-year-old son amid a bitter dispute with her ex-husband Olivier Martinez.

Halle Berry is reportedly seeking sole custody of her 10-year-old son amid a bitter dispute with her ex-husband Olivier Martinez.

The 58-year-old Hollywood actress is believed to have filed court papers asking to be granted full physical and legal custody of Maceo after previously sharing custody with his dad Olivier with TMZ.com reporting the documents state Halle is worried her ex's "turbulent and detrimental behaviour" has affected their little boy.

The website reports Halle expresses concerns that Olivier is prioritising Maceo’s sports practice over his education and is refusing to hire a tutor to help with his schoolwork.

According to TMZ, Halle claims Maceo has "serious behaviour and learning problems" and has fallen behind at school and she also alleges he becomes "angry and combative" following visits with his father.

She's said to be asking for sole custody to enable her to make solo decisions about Maceo’s education and therapy, adding she's not a "perfect person" but her her parenting has been "exemplary".

Halle and Olivier married in 2013 and their son was born later that year. They split in 2015 after two years of marriage, but their divorce wasn't finalised until 2023 following a series of disagreements over the raising of their son.

The actress is also mum to 16-year-old daughter Nahla with ex Gabriel Aubry, who she dated from 2005 to 2010, and she is currently in a relationship with singer/songwriter Van Hunt after they became close during the COVID-19 lockdowns.

Halle previously revealed Maceo is so happy with the couple's relationship, he staged an impromptu "commitment ceremony" for them.

During an appearance on 'Live with Kelly and Ryan', the 'Monster's Ball' star explained: "This was a ceremony by an 8-year-old in the back seat of the car who said, 'Mom, you should get married to him.' I said, 'Really, I should marry him?'

"He said, 'Yeah, I pronounce you man and wife.' So we're like, 'Oh, okay. We're married!' But we're not married. So, that's our commitment ceremony."
