Tom Holland returning to the West End in Romeo and Juliet
Tom Holland is to return to the West End in a new production of 'Romeo and Juliet', more than 15 years after he starred in the title role of 'Billy Elliot'.
Tom Holland is to return to the West End in a new production of 'Romeo and Juliet'.
The 27-year-old actor started his career playing the title role in 'Billy Elliot: The Musical but went on to star in Hollywood films like 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' and is set to make his return to the stage as the male lead in The Jamie Lloyd Company's new version of the William Shakespeare classic.
Director Jamie Lloyd said: “Tom Holland is one of the greatest, most exciting young actors in the world. It is an honour to welcome him back to the West End."
The stage play - which tells the tragic tale of star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet in fourteenth-century Verona - will run at the Duke of York’s Theatre from Saturday 11 May until Saturday 3 August 2024, with further casting to be announced at a later date.
The play features text editing by Nima Taleghani, set and costume design by Soutra Gilmour, lighting design by Jon Clark, sound design by Ben and Max Ringham, video design and cinematography by Nathan Amzi and Joe Ransom, composition by Michael ‘Mikey J’ Asante, casting by Stuart Burt CDG, movement direction by Sarah Golding and Yukiko Masui (SAY), intimacy coordination by Ingrid Mackinnon, associate direction by Jonathan Glew, and associate design by Rachel Wingate.
The Jamie Lloyd Company is also committed to accessibility and is offering 10,000 tickets priced at £25 and under, with 5,000 of these exclusively reserved for under 30s, key workers, and those
receiving government benefits.
