Jamie Foxx denies sexual assault accusations: ‘The alleged incident never happened!’
After a new lawsuit claimed the actor groped a woman at a restaurant in 2015, Jamie Foxx has spoken out via a spokesperson to deny the allegations.
Jamie Foxx has denied new sexual assault allegations over an alleged incident at a restaurant.
The 55-year-old ‘Ray’ actor, who recently recovered from a shock illness that left him hospitalised for weeks, is accused in a lawsuit of placing both his hands on a woman’s waist in 2015, before he allegedly moved them “under her top”.
Documents obtained by the DailyMail.com showed the plaintiff, identified only as Jane Doe, claimed the A-lister “started rubbing her” chest after he “pulled her” by the arm to the back area of the rooftop at Catch NYC and Roof.
She added the actor was drunk and said she looked like Gabrielle Union and touched her in her intimate areas.
But a spokesperson for Jamie has denied the allegations, saying in a statement: “The alleged incident never happened. In 2020, this individual filed a nearly identical lawsuit in Brooklyn.”
They added: “That case was dismissed shortly thereafter. The claims are no more viable today than they were then.
“We are confident they will be dismissed again. And once they are, Mr Foxx intends to pursue a claim for malicious prosecution against this person and her attorneys for re-filing this frivolous action.”
Jane Doe says she sought medical treatment and suffered pain as well as emotional distress as a result of the “sexual assault, abuse, assault and battery”.
She is suing Jamie and the Catch eatery as well as its employees for compensation and punitive damages under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which opened a one-year revival window to file sexual abuse claims that would otherwise be barred by the statute of limitations.
At the time of the alleged incident, Jamie was in a relationship with actress Katie Holmes, 44, from whom he split from after six years of dating in May 2019.
