Jaime Winstone will miss this weekend's episode of Strictly Come Dancing due to injury.

The 41-year-old actress and her professional partner Carlos Gu will not dance on Saturday's (07.11.26) episode of the BBC show as she has been advised to rest by doctors after tearing an abdominal muscle.

A Strictly spokesperson said: "Due to injury, Jaime Winstone has been advised by doctors to rest and, as a result, she will not dance in this weekend's Strictly Come Dancing.

"In line with the rules of the show, Jaime and Carlos will receive a bye through to next week when it is hoped they will be able to dance again. We wish Jaime the very best as she continues her recovery."

Jaime added: "I am absolutely devastated not to be dancing this weekend due to a torn abdominal muscle. I am in considerable pain, and my doctors have advised complete rest to give my body the best possible chance to heal. As frustrating as it is, I have to put my health first and follow their advice to step away from dancing this week.

"I love every moment of dancing and performing with Carlos, and I am praying for a speedy recovery so that I can continue this magical journey.

"I want to thank everyone for their incredible support so far. It means more than you know. Wishing everyone on the show all the luck, love and strength for Saturday night and I hope to be back on that dance floor very soon. With love, Jaime."

The Babs actress is the second celebrity to withdraw from an episode of this year's Strictly due to injury, after Delta Goodrem was forced to sit out of the Icons Week show last month after suffering a rib injury during rehearsals with her pro partner Kai Widdrington.

Meanwhile, Jaime recently revealed that she has been turning to her father – The Gentlemen actor Ray Winstone – for support during her Strictly journey.

The actress, who narrowly avoided being the first celebrity eliminated from the series after she and Carlos found themselves in the dreaded dance-off, told The Sun newspaper: "Thankfully, I’ve got the support around me that I need.

"I had a great phone call with him after the show on Saturday, from set - Dad is loving it. He’s suddenly a fifth judge.

"He just said, 'Pick yourself up, kid, and crack on', and that’s what I’ve got to do.

"He’s loving Carlos and he’s super-proud of me. He knows it’s a really hard job we’re doing and I’m putting in the effort.

"And my mum was screaming in the background, crying, ‘You’re amazing!'."
