Jaime Winstone is in talks to join Strictly Come Dancing.

The 41-year-old star - who is best-known for playing Barbara Windsor in a drama about her life - is locked in talks about competing on the long-running BBC series, and TV bosses are hoping that Ray Winstone, Jamie's dad, will be in the audience to cheer her on.

The BBC are also hopeful that Danny Dyer, the former EastEnders actor, will also show support for his daughter, Dani.

A show insider told The Sun newspaper: "Bosses will be hoping that Ray will be coming down to the studio to see his daughter dance on more than one occasion – after all he’s a bit of a national treasure.

"But they’ll also be praying that he and Danny will be in the audience on the same night, with the front row looking like a gritty Brit flick."

In June, it was confirmed that Dani, who had to withdraw from Strictly 2025 due to injury, will be competing on the BBC show this year.

The actress - who has previously made appearances on TV shows such as Celebrity MasterChef, Celebrity Gogglebox and EastEnders - admitted at the time that she couldn't wait to compete on Strictly.

She said in June: "I am so excited to be back in the ballroom this September! I just cannot wait to get my dancing shoes back on and hopefully this time around I can actually make it to week one! I’m just over the moon and cannot wait to find out who else is doing it!"

By contrast, Dani was forced to withdraw from Strictly in September 2025 after suffering an injury in training.

She said at the time: "I had a fall on Friday in rehearsals and landed funny. I thought I had rolled my foot but it swelled up badly over the weekend and after an MRI scan yesterday, it turns out I have fractured my ankle.

"Apparently doing the quickstep on a fracture is not advisable and the doctors have said I am not allowed to dance so l’ve had to pull out of the show. To say I’m heartbroken is the biggest understatement."
