Alison Hammond has returned to This Morning one week after rushing off air last week.

On the October 2 episode, ITV viewers were scared after the 51-year-old presenter was seen clutching her chest, and she was taken to the hospital for tests.

On Friday (09.10.26), Alison first appeared on Lorraine as she poked fun at Holly Willoughby's infamous 'Are you ok?' speech when she returned after Phillip Schofield's exit in 2023.

She quipped: "I'm going to tell you everything, guys. Are you okay? I hope you are."

And as This Morning got underway, she told co-host Dermot O'Leary: "Thank you, first of all, for holding the fort, and thank you to everyone who sent their good wishes.

"All I can say is, in that moment, it was probably one of the most scariest things that I've ever been through. It was surreal.

"Do you know what I felt like? I felt like I went into the other world. What's that show that I love? Stranger Things. You know when you go into the Upside Down world? I felt like I went into the Upside Down world.

"I couldn't grasp my breath, and it was a panic attack. And you know, I feel guilty that I didn't have a heart condition or anything a little bit because it was so much."

Alison told viewers that it was the "first time" she's felt something like that, while being on live TV added another level to the scary situation.

She explained: "I thought, oh my gosh, my son might bye watching, so I just ran. I ran off TV.

"I would never do that normally, but I just couldn't catch my breath... It just was like a wave, something which I now found out is adrenaline.

"I genuinely thought I was having a heart attack. I'm so glad I'm here. I feel so grateful. I feel so thankful to God, to everything in life.

"I'm so happy that I'm here, and I'm so happy to see you. You were absolutely wonderful."

Alison, who also hosts The Great British Bake Off, admitted the incident has given her a new outlook on life.

She said: "If anything, it's made it's made me look at life so much differently. Yeah, you know, take stock. You know, look after my health."

was taken to hospital in an ambulance on October 2, and she took to Instagram to say she was getting her heart checked.

Alison said: "Hello my lovelies, I know you're all worried about me. Honestly, I am fine, first of all.

"I'm getting my old ticker checked out. I've been having a little palpitation, and now I'm getting it all checked out. I think I'm OK; I'm hoping it's just a little panic attack or something like that.

"I love you all, thank you for the messages, I'm so sorry I left you.

"I wouldn't usually do that, I would never leave a TV show, but I wasn't very well, so you know I am going to be all right, and the doctors are so lovely and checking me out."

The Strictly Come Dancing 2014 contestant joked that she was still wearing her make-up from the TV show while she was sat in her hospital bed.

Alison said: "Hopefully everything is fine, everything is fine actually. Look at me, I'm rocking this gown and still got my makeup on from This Morning. Lush and love you, babs."

After she was rushed off This Morning's set clutching her chest, Dermot tried to explain her abrupt exit to viewers.

He said: "Welcome back to This Morning, Ali is feeling just a little unwell so she's just had to duck out. Hopefully she'll be back in a sec."

Dermot delivered another update later in the show.

The TV presenter explained: "Ali's feeling a little unwell, so I'll be here for the rest of the show."
