Charlotte Crosby's daughter, 20 months, 'screaming' in pain as she battles illness
Charlotte Crosby has opened up about her 20-month-old daughter's worrying health ordeal.
Charlotte Crosby's 20-month-old daughter is battling a nasty illness.
Pixi is suffering from hand, foot, and mouth disease, which has left her "screaming" in pain from ulcers that have covered her mouth.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Charlotte, 36, opened up about the "hardest day" she has "ever had" in her parenting life, which fell on her four-year-old daughter Alba's birthday.
She added: "Pixi has hand foot and mouth. And believe me when I say her mouth is RIDDLED with ulcers.
"She’s back in bibs that need changing every hour because they are soaked through. When I say she’s screaming with her mouth pain. (sic)"
Per the National Health Service (NHS), Hand, foot and mouth disease is a "common childhood illness that can also affect adults. It usually gets better on its own in 7 to 10 days".
Initial symptoms can be a "sore throat a high temperature, not wanting to eat", before progressing to symptoms including "mouth ulcers, which can be painful, a raised rash of spots on the hands and feet, and sometimes the groin area and bottom”.
The Geordie Shore alum continued: "She’s still keeping hydrated and temp is under control but this poor little girl hasn’t ate in like 2 days! She’s managed some sorbet and a tiny bit of soup. (sic)"
Charlotte and her 45-year-old fiance, businessman Jake Ankers, are saddened that Pixi's ill health has overshadowed Alba's special day.
The Celebrity Big Brother 2013 housemate said: "Obviously today is Alba’s birthday so I feel like I’ve been pulled from pillar to post.
"Pixi will not be put down. And I’ve been trying to set up Alba’s birthday toys, make a cake together and still make her birthday amazing.
"But me and Jake feel abit sh** because we feel like we haven't been able to give our little Alba our all!"
However, Charlotte added: "She’s got her party at the weekend! So gunna make up for it ten fold! And hopefully Pixi will be feeling much better! (sic)"
Alba still had a "great birthday" despite her parents focusing more on Pixi.
Charlotte continued: "And I’m sure she hasn’t even noticed as she’s been so engrossed in playing with her toys.
"But you still feel guilty don’t you. (sic)"
