Anthea Turner reveals bus drivers refuse to believe she is old enough for a Freedom Pass after non-surgical facelift procedures have rejuvenated her face.

The TV presenter had six monthly full face and neck Focus Dual treatments, worth £500 per session, with some clinics offering a series of six for below £2,500, which has boosted her confidence, but come with an unexpected downside.

She laughed: "Since having these aesthetic treatments there have been quite a few occasions when I try to use my Freedom Pass and the bus driver asks, 'You’re not, are you?' And I have to persuade them that I am indeed 66-years-old!"

Anthea felt less confident about her looks and was conscious of loose skin on her neck and jawline before having the Focus Dual treatments.

The system uses the latest micro-needling and radio frequency technology to significantly boost the youthful appearance of skin.

The former Blue Peter host admitted: "I think you get to an age where you suddenly stand in front of the mirror and start pulling your skin tighter around your face."

She grabbed the top of her neck with her whole hand and pushed it back to make her jawline and neck look sharper, and added: "I don’t have a girlfriend of mine in my age group who doesn’t do that, and you go, 'Oh, that would look nice.'"

At the beginning of this year, Anthea took action and went to her local aesthetic clinic, Bodyvie in Richmond, London, to ask for advice on the best new non-surgical treatments.

The ex-Top of the Pops presenter said: "I had done some research and looked into all the aesthetic possibilities, and there are many, many out there, so I took some advice at Bodyvie and, for my skin and age, they recommended the Focus Dual by Lynton treatments.

"I wanted something that was safe, effective, and very little downtime.

"They said they had got some amazing results for their clients with this system and that the results looked really natural, which was important to me because I really didn’t want to come out of this looking like I’d had work done on my face.

"It was a no-brainer really."

For her treatment plan, Anthea and her clinician opted for a cautious, progressive strategy.

She explained: "We decided that the best thing to do was slow and low. I don’t want to lose the plumpness that I already have in my face, that I’ve held on to. I wanted to primarily look after my skin.

"If you look after your skin, everything glows, everything looks great, and that’s the approach we went for, and I have got exactly what I wanted."

The GMTV alum had a comfortable experience when having the procedure, with each session taking about an hour to complete.

Anthea said: "I don’t really think it hurts at all. You have numbing cream, so hardly feel anything. On a scale of one to ten, where does it come? Maybe a three, if that."

The minimal recovery time was appealing for the Dancing on Ice 2013 contestant because of her demanding schedule.

She said: "I have very little time in my life to have downtime, and so one of the things that I was looking for was something that had minimal downtime, and Focus Dual absolutely does.

"I would say that if I had a procedure at 1 o’clock in the afternoon, by the next day, maybe I would look a little bit pink, but nothing that I couldn’t hide with make-up and go out."

Anthea is thrilled with the results, declaring Focus Dual treatments as a highly worthwhile investment in her confidence and appearance.

The Celebrity Big Brother 2001 housemate said: "The fact is that when you start using the Focus Dual, not only do you get a much tighter jaw, you get a better quality of skin on your neck, and your neck has got very thin skin on it.

"I’ve noticed people have said to me, 'Oh, your skin looks good.' And I go, ' I've had Focus Dual,’ and then they want to know more about it. And want that."

Looking at before and after photos for the first time, she added: "Gosh, this is the first time I’ve seen these pictures. This is me eight months ago, and me now. My goodness me, I can see a difference. I definitely can.

"You see, again, you know, it’s the quality of the skin. Look after your skin. Really, really important."

Noting the positive impact on her facial structure, Anthea continued: "Keeping my volume was actually very important to me. Tightening the skin on my whole face it's made a difference to my apples and eyes. Gosh, that's a task. Well, I never."

The Jump 2014 star intends to keep up with a Focus Dual maintenance treatment every three to four months.

Reflecting on her journey, Anthea is thrilled she took the plunge and encourages others to commit to a full course of treatment rather than expecting instant miracles from a single session.

She said: "I think that up until probably your mid to late 40s, you don’t really notice a huge amount. Everything seems to be going in the right direction, that’s OK. And then all of a sudden, as you approach 50 and beyond, you do notice changes.

"We are losing collagen. You don't really notice it for a while, and then you really do.

"I would like to think, really, that what the Focus Dual has done for me, and because I committed to a course, and this is really, really important, and I impress upon my friends, if you’re going to do this, don’t waste your money having three and then go, 'Oh no, I’m not going to have any more because I don’t think it’s doing anything.'

"You do the course. And even when you’ve done the course, it carries on improving."

Anthea added emphatically: "Yeah. Oh, I do recommend Focus Dual to my friends. Most definitely."

She continued: "Go to a clinic who has a Lynton machine, and you know that the training is going to be top-notch. You know that you are going to be well looked after and expectations will be managed."
