James Blunt 'thrown out' of Celebrity Traitors style game with Hollywood megastars
You're Beautiful hitmaker James Blunt has opened up about his dramatic past with the classic party game.
James Blunt has claimed he was "thrown out" of a Traitors-style game with Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore.
The You're Beautiful hitmaker, who will be appearing on new series of The Celebrity Traitors with the likes of Jerry Hall, Bella Ramsay and Richard E Grant, is a big fan of the show, and he has revealed his secret past with the classic party game which inspired the BBC hit.
He told the broadcaster: "I played a similar game in Los Angeles called Werewolf, with werewolves and villagers.
"I was invited around by Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore to go and play. I got thrown out, but nothing to do with the game, and it's a whole different story!"
James has lived an adventurous life, whether it's his pop career, buying a pub, or his time in the military, but viewers could see another side of him in the castle.
He said: "You're probably right, I suppose. I’ve not done a huge amount of TV. I was an X Factor judge but that's a different beast.
"I've done some interviews, and I really am who I say I am. The Twitter persona is really me. No one else is posting those comments."
Despite that, he insisted his "public persona" is close to who he actually is.
James added: "Yeah, it's really interesting because your public persona is invariably different from who you really are.
"My public persona is just this really annoying small guy, and I am actually that guy! I think people will think I'm fun and kind of jolly and there for the laughs. And I kind of think I am too."
And James is particularly looking forward to the missions.
He explained: "Well, they seem the silliest part of the whole show, don't they? Really, everything else is quite dark and sinister. And then watching a whole load of adults scurry around in the grass is…well, it's just the silliest part of it.
"But at the same time, it's probably the most innocent, and so at that stage, you can just throw yourself into it with abandon.
"Whether you are Traitor or Faithful, it's the part where you just throw yourself in. No one expects to be judged at that stage. They're just getting involved with everyone."
The Celebrity Traitors returns to BBC One and iPlayer tonight (01.10.26) at 8pm.
