Love Island's Gemma Owen has split from her multi-millionaire boyfriend Red Morgan.

The 23-year-old TV personality ended her romance with the 22-year-old property tycoon heir in June because the pair realised they "wanted different things out of the relationship", but they remain "on good terms".

And Gemma, whose dad is football legend Michael Owen, 46, revealed their separation came just days after the "sudden and unexpected" death of a close family friend, and the two heartbreaks left her navigating a "pretty hard few weeks, months".

In a YouTube vlog shared on Monday (07.09.26), she shared: "We had some really sad news of a really close family friend. He passed away really suddenly and unexpectedly.

"And within a day or two, Red and I split up, which I’m obviously not going to go into too much detail about either of the things because they’re both personal.

"Red and I are on good terms. We’re friends. It was a mutual decision, and ultimately we just came to a bit of a crossroads, and we wanted different things out of the relationship.

"We didn’t want to waste anyone’s time if we weren’t both sort of aligned with what we want. So yeah, that’s what’s been going on. It’s been, as you can imagine, a pretty hard few weeks, months."

Gemma spent time with her family and friends as she navigated a difficult period in her life.

She said: "I've just been kind of taking a bit of time to myself, obviously with my family, with my friends, doing things that make me happy. A lot of training."

The former couple met through their shared equestrian circles, and they went Instagram official in April 2025, when she shared pictures from their luxurious trip to Dubai.

Red has made a name for himself in showjumping, having competed for Great Britain in the youth European Championships.

He comes from a wealthy family, with his 73-year-old dad is property tycoon Steve Morgan, who boasts an estimated £935 million fortune in the 2026 Sunday Times Rich List.

Steve built his wealth after establishing the housebuilding firm Redrow and was also chairman of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Gemma was 19 when she took part in the 2022 series of ITV2's Love Island, and she and her then-boyfriend Luca Bish finished as runners-up behind now exes Ekin-Su Culculoglu, 32, and 31-year-old Davide Sanclimenti.

In November that year, Gemma announced that she and Luca, now 27, had split.

She stars alongside her dad Michael, mum Louise, 46, and her three siblings James, 20, Emily, 18, and Jessica, 16, in the fly-on-the-wall Prime Video reality TV show, Meet the Owens.
