Last month, it was reported that some former Celebrity Big Brother contestants will return to the house when the new series of Big Brother starts on Sunday (13.09.26).
Big Brother host Will Best has backed the idea of former Celebrity Big Brother contestants returning to the show as guests during the new civilian series.
Last month, it was reported that the ITV show's bosses plan to put some VIP guests in the house when the new series starts on Sunday (13.09.26), the same format as when ex-The X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne, 73, entered the Celebrity Big Brother house for a short stay in 2024.
And Will, 41, who fronts the social experiment programme with AJ Odudu, 38, would love to see some familiar faces return to the house.
He is quoted by The Sun as saying: "I’m always open to old faces returning. I think it’s fun. And you know, if you bring people in, there’s a lot of people with unfinished business in that house.
"There’s a lot of people who were amazing characters who are still amazing characters, there’s definitely people that we’ve got to know through doing the spin-off that I think would be amazing going back in."
Will, who is taking part in the upcoming series of BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, added: "I’d love to see some old faces go back in. I’m 100 per cent behind that."
Meanwhile, AJ said: "But what if we don’t? You’ve also got to just be 100 per cent behind seeing new faces, fresh energy."
In August, it was reported that Chantelle Houghton, 43, was in talks to return to Big Brother - 20 years after she won Celebrity Big Brother after entering the house as a civilian, tasked with pretending to be a member of the fictional girl band, Kandy Floss.
A source told The Sun: "ITV bosses have been tapping up famous stars to return to the house from all of the series – and Chantelle was seen as their perfect Channel 4 signing.
"She went into the celebrity house as a civilian, so to send her into the civilian series as a celeb seems like a fun twist. Chantelle is larger than life and game for anything.
"Big Brother bosses are still securing famous names to go into the house as guests in residence – and they think it'll be a brilliant twist."
Chantelle - who struck up a romance with Ordinary Boys frontman Preston, 44, on the then-Channel 4 show and married months after the April final - recently teased she was working on a new reality TV project.
She said: "I started in reality TV and I would love to do more. I enjoy it, it's fun, and I can be myself.
"Who knows what's next, but I'm back, and this time, I'm not going anywhere."
She and Preston "amicably" divorced in 2007, and upon reflection, the beauty admitted that she and Preston "should never have got married".
Chantelle recently told 52-year-old Paul C. Brunson on his We Need to Talk podcast: "It should have been what it was. But you know what, we were young, we were on this crazy ride of Big Brother."
The model went on to say that her and Preston's whirlwind love story would not have happened if it were not for being in the Celebrity Big Brother house together.
Chantelle said: "In real life we would never have met, he wouldn't have fancied me, I wouldn't have fancied him, we just weren't right.
"It was the most amicable divorce ever, the day I moved out of the house, we hugged and said goodbye, there was no nastiness, no bitterness, no hate, no nothing. It was a very easy breakup."
And she and Preston still talk.
In February, Chantelle told Betway: "We still message every now and then. I think he’s engaged to someone now. We’re still friendly, there’s no bad blood.
"We didn’t have an awful falling out. Obviously, there were problems and a bit of animosity at the time, but no, I genuinely wish him well.
"We’ve been through so much together that no one else will really understand. That friendship still matters. It’s good memories, and it’s something we did once in our lives. It was just a great experience."
