TOWIE has ‘landed two spin-off shows’
Amy Childs and Billy Delbosq are said to be set to take viewers behind the scenes of their Spanish wedding, while Sophie Kasaei and Jordan Brook will reportedly document their first months as parents in two new TOWIE-linked series.
Amy Childs is reportedly returning to the centre of The Only Way Is Essex.
Her own wedding spin-off is said to be set to launch as the long-running reality show reportedly gets ready to expand with two new specials featuring some of its best-known faces.
According to The Sun, the 36-year-old original TOWIE star and her husband Billy Delbosq, 42, will reportedly open up their wedding preparations to cameras for the three-part Amy Billy: A TOWIE Wedding, while Sophie Kasaei and Jordan Brook are said to be gearing up to document life with their baby son Brody in the two-part Sophie Jordan: A TOWIE Baby.
Both shows are due to air before the end of December, although official premiere dates have yet to be announced, The Sun reported.
Amy has been part of the TOWIE story since its beginnings, joining the ITV reality series when it launched in 2010 and becoming one of its original breakout stars alongside figures including Mark Wright, Lauren Goodger and Sam Faiers.
Her reported new series will follow Amy and Billy as they prepare for their wedding in Spain, giving viewers access to the planning and celebrations surrounding the ceremony.
The three episodes are said to be set to feature the couple dealing with last-minute preparations, emotional reunions and surprises as friends and relatives travel to Spain for the wedding.
Amy and Billy became engaged after Billy proposed during a holiday in the Maldives.
They are parents to twins Billy and Amelia, while Amy also has two older children, Polly and Ritchie, from previous relationships.
Amy has remained closely associated with The Only Way Is Essex despite periods away from the show. She left the original series in 2011 after becoming one of its most recognizable personalities and subsequently appeared on Celebrity Big Brother, The Jump and Celebs Go Dating before returning to TOWIE in 2020.
The second reported new TOWIE spin-off will focus on Sophie and Jordan as they adjust to becoming first-time parents following a difficult period for the couple.
Sophie Jordan: A TOWIE Baby will document their experiences raising Brody, including sleepless nights, his early milestones and the moment they introduce him to friends and relatives.
Sophie, who previously became known to reality television audiences through MTV’s Geordie Shore, and Jordan have spoken publicly about struggling to conceive for more than two years before Sophie was diagnosed with endometritis.
The couple announced in December Sophie was pregnant, but their preparations for parenthood were disrupted when Jordan became seriously ill while Sophie was seven months pregnant.
Jordan was rushed to hospital and diagnosed with viral meningitis and encephalitis, leaving him bed-bound for a month.
He subsequently told The Sun he struggled to walk and speak during the illness and that doctors initially warned his family they could not rule out cancer.
Jordan said: “The doctors were totally incredible but they have to give you the worse-case scenario.
“And when the doctor comes into a hospital room and you’ve got your seven-month pregnant girlfriend there and your dad, and the doctor says, ‘We can’t rule out brain cancer’, that was hands down the worst day of mine and my family’s entire life.”
Jordan returned home only weeks before Sophie gave birth to Brody and has continued his recovery while adjusting to becoming a father.
The two reported TOWIE spin-offs follow the launch of The Only Way Is Essex series 38 on August 2, continuing a franchise which has followed the relationships, families, feuds and businesses of its Essex cast since first arriving on television 16 years ago.
