Dragon's Den star Deborah Meaden keen on Celebrity Traitors role
Deborah Meaden has revealed what she learned watching Alan Carr win the first series of The Celebrity Traitors.
Deborah Meaden would "quite like" to test herself on The Celebrity Traitors.
The 67-year-old star, who is best known for spending the past two decades on Dragon's Den, has appeared on the likes of Taskmaster, The Great British Bake Off, Strictly Come Dancing and more over the years, and she'd love to sign up for the BBC's deceitful game show.
She told new! magazine: "Oh, I'd quite like to do that. I'd love it.
"Strictly was amazing, Bake Off was amazing... but Traitors is definitely, definitely on my list."
Last year, the BBC launched the first Celebrity Traitors spinoff series, with Alan Carr escaping banishment and winning as a Traitor.
However, Deborah thinks she'd rather be a Faithful and not have to deal with the pressure of lying to her friends and fellow stars.
She added: "Alan Carr must have felt so bad, I don't want to do that."
Despite setting her sights on Celebrity Traitors, Deborah insisted she won't be on TV "for the sake of it", and she still loves Dragon's Den ahead of the show's return on August 20.
She said: "I'm never going to just sit there I'm not interested in being 'famous'. I'm not interested in being on television for the sake of it.
"What I am interested in is the fact that Dragons' Den manages to find some amazing entrepreneurs, whether they're good, bad, crazy or off the planet.
"It's ideas and creativity and energy and I will sit down in that chair and as long as I still get that feeling - I love it."
The Celebrity Traitors - which sees the Faithfuls identify and banish the Traitors through voting, while the Traitors try to stay undetected and 'murder' the Faithfuls each night - had the nation gripped when it aired last year.
It's now set to return in late 2026 with stars including Ross Kemp, Bella Ramsey, James Blunt, Jerry Hall, Joanne McNally, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Michael Sheen, Maya Jama, Miranda Hart and Richard E. Grant.
The BBC game show, which is hosted by Claudia Winkleman, has increased security for the upcoming series to make sure the public doesn't find out which of the celebrities have been chosen as Traitors.
Ross recently told the Joe Marler Will See You Now podcast: "I tell you what, as you know, the disclaimer for the Traitors is longer than the Bayeux Tapestry. Pollsmoor and Belmarsh prisons have less policing around it than that game, that piece of entertainment!"
