Lisa Faulkner has paid a heartfelt tribute to John Torode, her husband.
Lisa Faulkner has paid a heartfelt birthday tribute to husband John Torode.
The 54-year-old star has taken to social media to heap praise on her husband, weeks after she revealed news of her cancer diagnosis.
Alongside a selfie of them stood side by side, Lisa - who has started treatment for breast cancer - wrote on Instagram: "Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband @johntorodecooks I hope you have the best day my best friend. What a year it’s been but we held each others hands and I couldn’t have got through these past few months without you by my side. You are the kindest man with the gentlest biggest heart and you make my heart thump [heart emoji] I look forward to a birthday coffee in our spot in the garden I love you my Johno and so does Rory [heart emoji] (sic)"
John, 61 - who left his role on MasterChef in 2025, after he was accused of using racist language - replied: "And I love and adore you .. [heart emoji] (sic)"
In July 2025, John was sacked as the host of MasterChef.
The celebrity chef was fired after an allegation against him of using "an extremely offensive racist term" was upheld.
A BBC spokesperson said: "John Torode has identified himself as having an upheld allegation of using racist language against him.
"This allegation - which involves an extremely offensive racist term being used in the workplace - was investigated and substantiated by the independent investigation led by the law firm, Lewis Silkin.
"John Torode denies the allegation. He has stated he has no recollection of the alleged incident and does not believe that it happened. He also says that any racial language is wholly unacceptable in any environment.
"The BBC takes this upheld finding extremely seriously. We will not tolerate racist language of any kind and, as we have already said, we told Banijay UK, the makers of MasterChef, that action must be taken. John Torode's contract on MasterChef will not be renewed."
Prior to that, John confirmed that the allegation against him had been upheld. However, the TV star said via social media that he had "absolutely no recollection" of making the alleged comments.
He said on Instagram: "I have absolutely no recollection of any of this, and I do not believe that it happened."
