Fred Sirieix lands new luxury hotel travel show on Channel 4
First Dates star Fred Sirieix is revealing the "secret to a great hotel" in his new Channel 4 series.
Fred Sirieix is set to share the "secret to a great hotel" in his new travel show.
The TV star is swapping the First Dates restaurant for fancy hotels across the globe for a new Channel 4 series, Fred's Ultimate Hotels.
As reported by The Sun newspaper's TVBiz column, she said: "People often think the secret to a great hotel is the building, the food or the luxury.
“Of course, those things matter but for me, it’s always about the people.
“The welcome, the attention to detail and the passion of the staff are what turn a wonderful hotel into an unforgettable experience.”
The series will see him visit the likes of Marrakech's Royal Mansour, the Royal Madikwe lodge in South Africa, and Raffles Singapore.
Each episode will see the maitre 'd initially check in as a guest, before experiencing life at the hotel as a member of staff.
They'll all be ranked across five 'F' categories, including first impressions, flawless service, facilities, fine details, and feeling.
He added: "It was an incredible privilege to work alongside some of the world’s best hospitality teams and to see first-hand the pride they take in what they do.”
The series is expected to air later this year.
Meanwhile, Fred is still committed to First Dates, and finds himself "just as excited as ever" when he returns to filming, even after being on air since June 2013.
Back in April, he told Heat magazine: "I don't think I can say it's more exciting, but I'm just as excited as ever.
"We are creating an experience for people. What we want is that in 10, 25, 20 years' time, they're going to remember that as one of the best experiences of their life.
"People come to us with a lot of hope, and we need to deliver both on the matchmaking side, as well as the experience in the restaurant."
Asked why First Dates remains popular, Fred replied: "People like it - it gives them hope. They can relate to it. People get to learn about each other, and they learn about themselves.
"But I think the main thing is that the show has a good heart. That's the reason why I wanted to do it in the first place.
"I don't want to do a show where we're going to laugh at them behind their back - we're very kind with everybody, and that's very important."
