Alison Hammond is planning a "celebration of love" without officially getting married.

The 51-year-old star has been with model and masseuse David Putman, 28, since 2023 and while they're planning "a big summer party" with their relationship front and centre, she refuses to call it a wedding.

Alison told Closer magazine: "I just don't think I need to get married. I've got my man and I'm settled.

"I just want the big day, so I'm going to have a big summer party. I'd love a blessing and celebration of love.

"I'm going to have the beautiful dress, the band, food and drink, everything."

The Great British Bake Off host revealed her 21-year-old son Aiden, who she has with ex Noureddine Boufaied, will give her away on the day.

Alison joked that This Morning co-star and close friend Dermot O'Leary can have a more low key role.

She added: "Dermot keeps going on that he's giving me away. He's absolutely not giving me away.

"He can be the flower boy who comes down and scatters flowing on the floor at the blessing. That's what he can do.

"My son is going to be giving me away."

If Alison were to actually get married officially one day, she would shun traditions.

She explained: "If I marry someone, I want him to take my name. Why does it have to be the other way round? I don't want to be owned by anybody."

Alison is happy to celebrate her relationship in her own way, while she revealed her dream date night involved spending an evening in bed together.

She said: "Bedtime is just watching Love Island with cherries and some seaweed from Itsu. That is a night and a half for me.

"I'm in my element - him massaging my feet, you couldn't get any better!"

Last week, Alison left viewers in stitches as she snagged a surprise interview with Prince Harry live on This Morning.

She was in her hometown of Birmingham reporting from the Invictus Games, and the Duke of Sussex challenged her to a laser tag game before joining her for a chat about the project.
